New outpatient clinic for pediatric preventive care and sports medicine opens in Magdeburg

With the establishment of the Outpatient Clinic for Pediatric Prevention and Sports Medicine (PaePSi), the University Children’s Hospital at Magdeburg University Medical Center is expanding its services to include an innovative focus on health promotion for children and adolescents.

Logo PaePSiPaePSi is aimed at children and adolescents aged six and older and combines modern preventive medicine with sports medicine diagnostics and counseling. The goal is to promote physical, mental, and cardiovascular health at an early stage, identify risks, and develop personalized recommendations for an active and healthy lifestyle.

The range of services includes, among other things, sports fitness evaluations, performance diagnostics, health and lifestyle checks, as well as care for children and adolescents with sports-related complaints or chronic conditions. In addition, individualized measures to promote physical activity, fitness, and long-term health are developed.

The official kick-off event will take place on June 17, 2026, starting at 3:30 p.m. in the Central Lecture Hall of the UMMD (Building 22). Following a welcome by representatives of the UMMD, guests will hear a keynote presentation on the topic of “Lifelong Health Care.” The concept of the new outpatient clinic will then be presented.
